There is more hunger for love and

My Approach and Experience
About Me
I am a licensed psychologist based in northern California. I welcome a variety of clients, primarily working with adults, couples, and groups. Clients describe me as warm, caring, and direct. My practice focuses on the treatment of trauma, PTSD, Complex PTSD, depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges.
I approach therapy as a joint venture with the client firmly in the driver’s seat. I am a caring and experienced guide, but the journey is yours. Neither of us knows where your therapy journey may lead. But the aim is for you to emerge with a fuller sense of yourself, your capacities, your relationships, and your joys.
I utilize evidence-based methods that have proven successful in healing. My style is greatly influenced by attachment theory. My work with couples is informed by Terry Real’s Relational Life Therapy. I often introduce mindfulness and somatic techniques to my clients. I may utilize depth or imaginal practices to dialogue with the inner voices that inhibit us from fully experiencing life.
Like most therapists, my life history has shaped my ability to empathize with others. I was raised in a multicultural household and had several careers before focusing on psychotherapy. I managed small businesses, owned a consulting firm, and was employed as a social worker and a financial advisor. I’ve been adjunct faculty at several universities where I taught interpersonal skills and group dynamics to graduate students in psychology and business. I've been in men’s groups for 40 years, volunteered on a suicide hot line, led anger management groups, and facilitated conflict resolution processes. My first clinical internship began in 2012 so I've been seeing clients for over 12 years. I am not easily rattled and therefore offer clients a calm, reassuring empathy and a safe container in which to grow into the person you hope to become.
